WHO IS FORCE?

The FORCE Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation. It helps blind and visually impaired children and adults in developing countries to improve their chances in life by providing access to information.

Why? Since those who are blind and visually impaired cannot see the letters in a book, they need information in formats other than print. Such formats include Braille and large print, audio and digital formats.

But in countries where welfare services are (almost) non-existent, the needs of blind and visually impaired people are rarely given priority by governments and foreign aid organisations. Therefore, they often find themselves excluded from school and further education, with hardly any chance at all of making a living.

FORCE's mission:

FORCE works to provide the ever-growing number of blind and visually impaired children and adults in the developing world with (school) books, newspapers and magazines in alternative formats. So that they, too, can read, learn and earn a living. So that they, too, have a choice in life.
