FORCE is currently involved in projects in:

Rural communitites in Southern Vietnam, Mobile library bus
FORCE UK is seeking support for a mobile library bus adapted for blind and visually impaired people.
Blind and visually impaired children and adults in rural communities in Vietnam  have no access to education or information in a format they can read. Local schools and libraries are too small to accommodate even their basic needs.
In addition, many of these local institutions have very little knowledge or understanding of visual impairment. The result is that, in general, blind and visually impaired receive no education and become more isolated in society.

A mobile library bus equipped with Braille materials, talking books and specialist magnification equipment would allow these people to have access to information for the first time.
The total cost of this two year project is £32,500

Indochina - Talking books for blind children of ethnic minority groups
Blind and visually impaired children from cultural minority groups in Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos urgently need adapted school books in their own languages. Currently these children do not have access to any school materials in a format and language that they can read. FORCE UK has raised funds to set up a recording studio for the the production of talking books in minority languages of the region. The aim of the project is the integration of these children into the education system and to give them the chance of a future free from poverty and isolation. The recording studio will be based in the General Sciences Library in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and Associations for the Blind in Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam will be responsible for the selection, distribution and production of the talking books depending on local needs.

Cebu, Philippines -  Computer training and access centre
In collaboration with Resources for the Blind, a Filipino Christian organisation for the blind, FORCE Foundation UK has set up a centre where blind students can be trained in the use of computers and have access to computers to develop their computer skills. Based in the Resources for the Blind building in Cebu city in the region of Visayas, the centre will also be equipped with Braille production equipment so that it can be used during off-times for producing Braille material.
