Mexico 

1. Cuernavaca - Workshop on radio reading services

Organisation of a workshop on radio reading services for blind and visually impaired  people in cooperation with the International Association of Audio Information Services (IAAIS) and the Radio Readers Network of the University of Kansas who provide the workshop trainers. Institutions for and of the blind and visually impaired from Mexico and neighbouring countries have showed great interest in the workshop which is the first of its kind in the region, introducing the idea of an innovative way of providing information for blind and visually impaired people. 

2. Xalapa - Braille production workshop

Organisation of a Braille production workshop for institutions for and of the blind and visually impaired in the Veracruz province. Although many organisations in the area have the necessary equipment to produce materials in Braille, production is low due to a lack of training. This workshop aims at increasing or starting up production (again) in all participating institutions.

3. Mexico City - Workshop on public library services for visually impaired readers

Organisation of a workshop on public library services for visually impaired readers in  cooperation with the Mexican Library Department. Trainers are David Owen, Executive Director of Share the Vision, UK, and Jenny Craven, Research Associate at the Centre for Research in Library and Information Management, UK. The workshop serves the purpose of raising awareness for setting up services for blind and visually impaired people through mainstream infrastructures.
